I started my career as a scientist with a Ph.D. in Pharmacology studying the development and progression of cancer. I then moved into the technology sector working for a company developing automation solutions for the biotech industry. The fast-paced, high tech enviroment was an ideal fit for me until I welcomed my first child into the world. The high travel demand of my job was not compatible for how I wanted to raise a family. So I quit my corporate career and joined forces with my husband to build his dog training businesses. While owning and operating your own business is definately hard work, it also has provided the flexibility to be the present parents we wanted to be when we started our family. As our family grew, my children inspired me to want to write my own books! Books are a constant in our daily life. One of my son's favorite bedtime books for a while was a children's encyclopedia! Mixing non-fiction and fiction together as a fun way of learning is at the heart of my stories.
